Arrive in Buenos Aires, a sprawling city, full of colonial architecture and vibrant culture. Transfer to the hotel and spend the day getting to know this exciting city at your leisure. Overnight stay in Buenos Aires.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, enjoy an included tour exploring the charming corners of the city. The city is known as the birthplace of the Tango. Explore the contrasting neighbourhoods: the colourful houses of La Boca, the culture of La Recoleta, the old town, San Telmo or the young, vibrant neighbourhood of Palermo, known for its green open spaces and nicknamed the 'Lungs of Buenos Aires.' The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight stay in Buenos Aires.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the bus station for a bus to El Calafate, a town near the edge of the unique region of Southern Patagonia, and home to the huge Perito Moreno glacier. If your arrival time allows, spend the day at your leisure exploring the town and sampling the unique cuisine of this other-worldly region. Overnight in Calafate.
Breakfast at the hotel. Journey to Perito Moreno, the most famous glacier in the world. On arrival, enjoy an included tour of the Glacier National Park and view Lake Argentino, Argentina´s biggest freshwater on a Nautical Safari. From here it is possible to contemplate the beauty of Perito Moreno. Stroll along the walkways in front of the glacier to see this spectacular ice mass from different perspectives. Return to El Calafate and overnight in hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time, t Transfer to the bus station for a bus to Puerto Natales. Arrive in Puerto Natales, and is time allows, enjoy exploring this formerly modest fishing port. Make sure to see the pretty corrugated tin houses and cosy granny style lodgings as well as enjoying the international restaurants and cafes. Overnight stay in Puerto Natales.
Breakfast at the hotel. Set off on the much-anticipated excursion to the Torres del Paine National Park. On the way, stop at the Milodón Cave, where Captain Eberhard famous found the bones and remains of a prehistoric animal called a Milodón. Arrive in Torres del Paine National Park, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, where you can admire some of the most diverse landscapes in the continent, from Magellan forest to vast Patagonian steppe and lakes inhabited by seabirds. Reach the Salto Grande, where the Nordenskjold and the Pehoé lakes meet. After a delicious lunch, walk along the shore of Gray Lake, to admire icebergs and the huge Grey Glacier. Return to Puerto Natales. Overnight stay in Puerto Natales.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the Cruise Port in Punta Arenas to check in for your exciting Full-Board Australis Cruise. Once on board, enjoy a welcome drink and meet the crew and Captain, before setting sail towards the South End. Overnight stay on board.
Full-Board. Today, arrive at the majestic Marinelli Glacier in Ainsworth Bay, an area of spectacular, wild, natural beauty. Learn about the retreating glacier and enjoy a nature walk to observe an impressive Beaver Dam, built by the beavers who live in the waters to protect themselves from predators. Enjoy the fresh air of the subantarctic Magellanic forest before embarking on a Zodiac trip to the Tuckers Islets, where penguins and cormorants can be seen in abundance. Watch as the groups of penguins huddle together for warmth on the coldest days. Return to the ship. Overnight stay on board.
Please Note: In September and April this excursion is replaced by a walk near a glacier in Brookes Bay.
Full-Board. In the morning, sail through the Northwest arm of the Beagle Channel before arriving and disembarking at the Pia Fjord. Head to the viewpoint for spectacular views of the Pia Glacier, which extends from the mountains to the sea. Back on board, head to the Garibaldi Fjord where you can disembark and enjoy an exhilarating trek through the Patagonian jungle to the base of a glacial waterfall. For those who prefer to remain on the ship, the captain will head towards the Garibaldi Glacier where you can appreciate the panoramic view from the outer decks. Night on board.
Full-Board. Sail through the Murray Channel and Nassau Bay before arriving at Cape Horn National Park, where you can disembark if the weather conditions allow it. Admire the mythical Cape Horn, discovered in 1616. For years it was an important navigation route for sailboats between the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. It is known as "the End of the World" and was declared a World Biosphere Reserve in 2005. Continue your cruise to Wulaia Bay, the historic site of native Yamanas canoeists and the location of Charles Darwin's arrival in 1833. Aside from its fascinating history, it is also a place of spectacular natural beauty. Walk through the Magellanic forest before reaching the viewpoint for exceptional views across the landscape. Return to the ship and night on board.
Full-Board on board. Today, arrive into Ushuaia, located at the most southerly tip of Argentina and known to be the 'gateway to Antartica'. Disembark the cruise ship and transfer to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure, soaking up the unique ambience of the town. Overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, set off on an exciting excursion to the Tierra del Fuego National Park. On the way, stop at the Centro Hípico, for excellent panoramic views of the Beagle Channel, the Ushuaia Peninsula and the Bridges, Willie and Les Eclauriers archipelagos. Arrive at the Ferrocarril Austral Fueguino station where you have the opportunity to take the famous End of the World Train. Afterwards, enter the National Park, an area of exceptional natural beauty. Here you can admire the forests, glaciers and lakes. At Lake Acigami, look for native bird life before taking a short break at a service area. Finally, explore beautiful Lapataia Bay, home to the vestiges of an ancient aboriginal town and abundant marine life. Soak up the wonder of nature that surrounds you at the end of the world! Return to Ushuaia. Overnight stay in Ushuaia.
Breakfast at the hotel. Embark on an unforgettable excursion across the Beagle Channel, a stretch of water which separates Chile and Argentina and is home to a colony of Sea Lions. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the Tierra del Fuego National Park and the unique landscape of this picturesque part of the world. Visit Isla los Lbos and the Les Eclareirs Lighthouse before watching the abundant birdlife on Isla de los Pájaros. As well as enjoying the natural beauty of this part of the world, learn about the historical importance of this maritime passage in the emergence of the city of Ushuaia. Return to land and overnight stay in Ushuaia.
